SUMMARY OF 3 LOUISIANA CATTLE AUCTIONS HELD IN KINDER (343), BATON ROUGE 
(175) AND WEST MONROE (320) ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2010

Cattle Receipts:  838    Last Week:  896    Last Year:  978

   Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly 1.00-5.00 
higher.  Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady to 3.00 higher.  The 
supply included 17 percent slaughter cows and 13 percent pairs/replacements.  
The feeder supply included 58 percent steers and 42 percent heifers, with an 
estimated 6 percent of the feeder supply weighing over 600 lbs.

lbs 92.00-97.00; 400-450 lbs 84.00-95.00; 450-500 lbs 80.00-91.00; 500-600 
lbs 78.00-88.00; 600-700 lbs 80.00-87.00.  Medium and Large 3  250-300 lbs

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  2-5 year old cows, 700-1085 lbs 
with 80-200 lb calves, 575.00-775.00 per pair; 5-7 year old cows, 825-1215 
lbs with 100-200 lb calves, 600.00-760.00 per pair.

   Replacements:  Medium and Large 1-2  1-4 year old cows, 915-940 lbs, 6-7 
months bred, 575.00-635.00 per head; 5-7 year old cows, 1015-1290 lbs, 6-7 
months bred, 525.00-610.00 per head.  Medium 1-2  2-4 year old cows, 650-800 
lbs, open 380.00-470.00 per head, 5-6 months bred 430.00-570.00 per head.
