Not enough sales for a market trend. The last established market was on Wednesday with live sales at 124.00. In the Northern Plains and Western Cornbelt, trading and demand was light to moderate. Compared to Thursday in Nebraska, live sales sold 1.00 higher at 126.00 and dressed sales sold 1.00 lower at 199.00. In Colorado, compared to Thursdays light test, live sales sold .50-1.50 higher at 125.50. Receipts included several packages of new crop, lighter weight calves as more and more are coming to town in the face of continuing drought. Most of these are right off their mothers with a few having pre-weaning shots. Extra competition from south Texas buyers made beef slaughter cows and bulls 2.00-3.00 higher. Dairy cows sold steady. Trade and demand mostly moderate on unweaned new crop calves to good on a few thin yearlings. Demand also good on beef type slaughter cows and bulls on offer. Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 250-925 lb feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 28 percent and slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows 2 percent, and feeders 69 percent.
