AM_LS750 Amarillo, TX Wed Nov 18, 2009 USDA-TX Dept of Ag Market News Amarillo Livestock Auction - Amarillo, TX Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for - Tuesday - 11/17/08 Cattle and Calves: 1,392 Week Ago: 2,277 Year Ago: 1,118 Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds steady to 1.00 lower, offerings under 600 pounds mostly 2.00-4.00 lower, limited test on calves under 500 pounds. Trade and demand moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls steady to 2.00 higher. Bulk of the supply Medium and Large 1-2 400-750 lb feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 14 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows 5 percent, and feeders 80 percent. The feeder supply included 54 percent steers and bulls and 46 percent heifers. Approximately 56 percent of the feeder run weighed over 600 lbs.
