AM_LS165 Amarillo, TX Fri Jun 14, 2013 USDA-TX Dept of Ag Market News Texas Weekly Direct Feeder Cattle Summary Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for Friday - 6/14/13 Confirmed: 30,400 Last Week: 33,200 Last Year: 21,600 Compared to last week the current FOB feeder steers and heifers were firm to 2.00 higher, with more cattle trading in the top end of the ranges which improved the weighted averages more but did not improve the top prices as much. Approximately 99 percent of this week's cattle weighed over 600 lbs. Approximately 53 percent of this week's weighted average receipts were steers and 47 percent heifers. Prices based on net weights FOB after a 3 percent shrink or equivalent and 5-10 cent slide on calves and 4-6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other expenses. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.
