Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, TX - 02/09/10 

Cattle and Calves:  608   Two Weeks Ago:  2,050   Year Ago:  874       

   Sale cancelled last week due to winter weather conditions.  Compared to two 
weeks ago:  Steers and heifers near steady on a limited test.  Slaughter cows 
and bulls 4.00-6.00 higher.  Bulk of the supply Medium and Large 1-2 350-750 lb 
feeder steers and heifers.  Trade and demand light to moderate.  Wet and muddy 
conditions in the country caused light feeder receipts.
   Slaughter cows made up 72 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 01 
percent, replacement cows 01 percent and feeders 26 percent.  The feeder supply 
included 48 percent steers and bulls and 52 percent heifers.  Approximately 67
percent of the feeder run weighed over 600 lbs.   

   Steers: Medium and Large 1:  lot 462 lbs 110.50; 600-700 lbs 95.00-100.00.                     
   Medium and Large 1-2:  lot 492 lbs 100.00; pkg 531 lbs 95.00. 
   Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2: 600-700 lbs 84.00-90.00; lot 707 lbs 
85.00; pkg 813 lbs 76.00. 
   
   Heifers: Medium and Large 1: part load 645 lbs 91.00. 
   Medium and Large 1-2:  500-600 lbs 85.50-88.50; pen 811 lbs 87.00, lot 883 
lbs 80.00.
