Cattleman's Livestock Auction - Dalhart, TX - Thursday - 02/09/12

Cattle and Calves: 1340     Week Ago: 2519     Year Ago:  615	

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers under 600 lbs steady, 
except 300-400 lb heifers up to 10.00 lower.  Feeder steers and heifers over 600 
lbs firm on limited receipts.  Higher dressing breaking and boning slaughter 
cows 3.00 higher, lean cows steady.  Slaughter bulls not well tested.  Trade and 
demand moderate to good.  Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 250-900 lb feeder 
steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made up 15 percent, slaughter bulls 0 
percent, replacement cows 1 percent, and feeders 84 percent.  The feeder supply 
included 48 percent steers and 52 percent heifers.  Near 29 percent of the run 
weighed over 600 lbs.

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1  few 250-300 lbs 220.00-239.00; few 300-350 lbs 
220.00-240.00; few fancy 351 lbs 231.00, few 389 lbs fleshy 195.00; few 400-425 
lb 203.00-205.00; 450-500 lbs 185.00-191.00; 500-550 lbs 178.00-180.00; 550-600
