Junction Sheep and Goat Auction - Monday - 04/10/00

Sheep and Goats: 7,465           Week Ago: 3,735         Year Ago: 5,368 

   Compared to last week: Feeder lambs 1.00-3.00 higher.  Slaughter lambs
and slaughter ewes steady.  Slaughter goats steady.  Slaughter nannies
1.00-3.00 higher.  Trade active.  Demand good.  Supply included 40 percent
sheep including near 1,100 lambs.

Stock and Feeder Sheep:
   Feeder Lambs: Medium and Large 1-2: New crop 20-40 lbs 100.00-107.00;
40-60 lbs 97.50-109.00, few 114.00-116.00, pkg 45 lbs 135.00.
   Stock Ewes: Medium and Large 1-2: 80-150 lbs 40.00-48.00; 80-110 lbs
unshorn 47.00-55.00 per head, pkg 112 lbs 58.00 per head; pkg 3 year old
shorn 110 lbs 75.00 per head; pairs 39.50 per head.  
   Barbados Ewes: 50-70 lbs 46.00-48.50.

Slaughter Sheep:
   Slaughter Lambs: Choice and Prime 2-3: Old crop 80-130 lbs 94.00-
104.00; Good and Choice 1-2: New crop 60-80 lbs 100.00-109.00, pkg 72 lbs
114.00.
   Slaughter Ewes: Utility 2-3: 80-130 lbs 42.00-48.00; Good 2-3: 80-150
lbs 55.00-59.00. 

Stock and Feeder Goats:
   Spanish Goats: Kids: 15-35 lbs 85.00-89.00, few 20.00-23.00 per head;
Young nannies: 50-80 lbs 60.00-68.00, few 35.00-37.00 per head.
   Boer and Boer Crosses: Young nannies 60-90 lbs 75.00-79.00.
