This years Alfalfa hay season is nearly done, as most areas on the east and southeastern portions of state received a freeze last week. Most areas are completing their last cutting. ***This will be the last report of the season. This report will resume in early May of 2010.*** Eastern region: Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales: Premium and Supreme quality: 165.00-175.00 per ton delivered to dairies. Good quality 120.00-135.00; Good and Fair quality ground hay delivered to feedlots 118.00-125.00 per ton. Baled Oats: 115.00-120.00 per ton, delivered. Baled Millet: 100.00 per ton. Southeastern regions: Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales: Premium and Supreme quality 165.00-175.00; Good quality 130.00-150.00; delivered to dairies. Small bales; Premium quality 200.00-230.00. Southern and Southwestern region: Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales Premium quality: 150.00-160.00 del to dairies, Good quality 110.00-130.00.
