jumbo 5.00-6.00, medium 5.00-6.00.  Temperatures on June 28 through June 
30 reached 100 degrees in the onion growing areas.  FIRST REPORT.
   WALLA WALLA DISTRICT, WASHINGTON---Shipments 0-6-18---Movement 
expected to increase as more growers expect to begin harvesting.

The top five shipping areas, in order, for the week were Idaho, Central 
California, Colorado, Washington, and North Carolina.  The summer potato 
acreage at 48,000 acres is down 11 percent from last year. The reduction 
is due in part to unfavorable planting conditions and uncertain water 
supplies. The NASS, U.S.D.A. Fall crop acreage report is due out July 11.
   UPPER VALLEY, TWIN FALLS-BURLEY DISTRICT IDAHO---Shipments 625-570-609
Movement expected to decrease current week and increase following week.  
Trading moderate.  Prices unchanged.  Russet Burbank U.S. One baled 
5 10-pound film bags non size A mostly 7.50-7.75, 50-pound cartons 40-70s 
21.00-22.00, 80s 20.00-22.00, 90s mostly 17.00, 100s mostly 15.00. Almost 
3 percent of last week's baled shipments were Idaho Standards or Utility 
grade.  2008 CROP UPDATE: With temperatures in the UPPER 80s all last week, 
crop growth has advanced rapidly.
   KERN DISTRICT CALIFORNIA---Shipments 414-435-430---Movement expected 
to decrease slightly current week (June 29) due to holiday shipping 
schedules, then increase the following week (July 6).  Trading fairly
