For the week: Cows and bulls continued the upward trend as the boneless trade increased again this week and heavy rains soaked many parts of the Southern region. Compared to last week bids closed mostly 2.00 higher. According to the Des Moines Market News Office: Lean boneless beef 92-94% steady to sharply higher; 90% steady to 2.00 higher; 85% steady to 1.00 higher; 75% sharply lower; 73% sharply higher; and 65% steady to 1.50 higher. Beef trimmings higher on light to moderate demand and light offerings. The weighted average on 90% lean cashed at 165.71 and the 50% earned 87.37 on 11 trades. The Cutter cow cut-out is estimated to up .40 at 130.12. On Wednesday the import trade had cow and bull meat steady to firm on light to moderate demand and light offerings. The 90% cow meat was quoted at 161.50 on the West coast and 166.00 on the East. The bull meat ran from 174.00 to 176.00 with high side on the East coast.
