MG_GR310 Montgomery, AL Thu May 15, 2008 USDA Market News Southeast Weekly Hay Report Movement and demand for hay and mulch has been light to moderate. Wide spread rain has been appreciated this week although it caught some hay on the ground. Summer grasses are still a little slow getting started but warmer nighttime temperatures should correct this. There is talk of increasing prices on new crop hay, perhaps a dollar on squares and five dollars on rolls. Fertilizer and fuel prices continue to rise. Prices on some old crop hay have been reduced to clean out barns. Prices are FOB producer barn unless otherwise stated.
