Feeder Cattle and Slaughter Cow Auction for 7/1/08

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 2.00-5.00 lower on a 
limited test.   Slaughter cows sold 1.00 higher, bulls sold steady;
Demand and supply light.   Cows made up approximately 35 percent of the 
run, 65 percent feeders.  Steers made up approximately 41 percent of the 
offering, 53 percent heifers.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 16 
percent. 

   Feeder Steers:   Medium and Large 1-2   few 300-375 lbs 108.00-119.00; 
425-500 lbs 104.00-111.00; few 500-600 lbs 101.00-113.00; few 650-700 lbs 
98.50-102.00; few 800-850 lbs 85.25-94.00.   Medium 2   few 425-500 lbs 
88.00-95.00; pkg 505 lbs 95.50.

   Feeder Heifers:   Medium and Large 1-2   250-300 lbs 100.00-
106.00; 300-350 lbs 96.00-103.00; 400-450 lbs 95.50-101.00; 450-500 lbs 
88.00-95.50; 500-600 lbs 87.25-95.00; 600-650 lbs 87.00-94.50.   Medium 2

   Cow-calf pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2, 8-short and solid mouth, 1070-
1520 lbs with 90-180 lbs calves, 840.00-930.00 per pair.
