Heifers in the sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have also undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. Many were artificially bred. All heifers are expected to calve from late January thru the end of April, with projected dates given for each lot of heifers. Heifers were sorted into lots according to calving dates and body type similarity. Lots consisted of black and black crosses (82 percent), along with Gelbvieh, Red Angus crosses and Hereford (18 percent). Sale average on all lots was 1079.00 compared to 920.00 last year.
