New Cambria - New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Auction for 06/05/08

   Compared with the previous auction; feeder steers under 650 lbs and
heifers under 600 lbs 3.00-8.00 lower, heavier weight yearling cattle
had no comparisons with the previous sale.  The best demand on the
bigger yearling cattle.  Slaughter cows steady.  A good crowd on hand
for a free noon meal on customer appreciation day.  Hay baling and bean
planting are in full swing now that we have finally had several days of
dry weather.  Demand was moderate for calves and good on yearlings and
the supply moderate.  Cows and bulls accounted for 5 percent of the run
and feeders 95 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up
approximately 58 percent of the run; heifers 42 percent; steers and
heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 60 percent.  Next sale July 17.

Fleshy 488 lbs 115.75; 500-600 lbs 115.50-121.75; 600-700 lbs
