Cow and Bull Auction Close for 6/30/08

Receipts:  450   Last Week:  475   Last Year:  No Sale

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold mostly 2.00 higher on a rather light supply. There was
an increased demand for bred cows including older cows especially those in
the third stage and a moderate supply of cow/calf pairs. The supply was
moderate to light and demand good for slaughter classes.

lbs 58.00-67.00; 3-7 years 1045 lb indiv. 55.00.

  Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 years to short and solid mouth 2nd
and 3rd stage 1030-1360 lbs 685.00-885.00, 1st stage 985-1200 lbs 625.00-
785.00; broken mouth to aged 3rd stage 1110-1310 lbs 585.00-710.00. Large
1-2  4 years to short and solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage 1390-1575 lbs
835.00-950.00. Medium and Large 2  3 year 2nd stage 990 lb indiv. 650.00.
Medium 1-2  4 years to short and solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage couple 975-
990 lbs 560.00-600.00, 1st stage 5 year 980 lb indiv. 710.00.

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  4 years to short and solid mouth
1030-1230 lb cows w/150-400 lb calves and several rebred 950.00-1110.00;
broken mouth to aged 1055-1150 lb cows w/160-250 lb calves 810.00-910.00.
Large 1-2  short and solid mouth 1370 lb cow w/255 lb calf 1085.00. Medium
1-2  5-7 years 900-920 lb cows w/150-160 lb calves 900.00-975.00.
