Feeder Cattle Auction for 07/01/08

   Compared with the last tested market from two weeks ago; feeder
steers and heifers 3.00-5.00 higher on a light test.  Slaughter cows
1.00-2.00 higher compared with last week.  Drier weather has nearly
everyone busy with some kind of field work including wheat harvest
which has just begun.  Demand good and supply light.  Cows and bulls
accounted for 10 percent of the run, and feeders 90 percent.  In the
feeder supply, steers and bulls made up approximately 59 percent of
the run; heifers 41 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled
around 32 percent.  Next sale July 15.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1 Few 400-500 lbs 130.75-135.85;
550-600 lbs 118.75-125.10; 600-700 lbs 110.00-118.25.  Medium and
Large 1-2 Pkg 377 lbs 127.00; 400-500 lbs 122.75-127.50; 500-600 lbs
117.00-122.25; Few 600-700 lbs 113.00-117.00.  Large 1 Pkg 735 lbs
105.00; Pkg 807 lbs 105.10.  Large 1-2 Pkg 983 lbs 93.00.  Medium 1-2
