Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 7/2/2008

Receipts:  863    Last Week:  1485    Year Ago:  no sale

   Compared to last week, steers under 700 lbs and heifers under 600 lbs
steady, heavier weights steady to firm, Holsteins under 600 lbs steady,
over 600 lbs not well tested, undertone lower.  Demand moderate, supply
light.  Most of the farmers are in the field trying to get some work done
before the next rain.  June finished as the wettest June on record with
over thirteen inches of water.  The feeder supply included 32 percent
steers, 16 percent Holsteins, 38 percent heifers, 14 percent bulls, with
38 percent over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1 pkg 248 lbs 137.00; 300-400 lbs
125.00-139.50; pkg 591 lbs 110.50; 600-650 lbs calves 106.50-112.50, 675
-700 lbs 108.00-109.50; lot 892 lbs 106.50.  Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 372
lbs 119.00; 400-500 lbs 107.50-116.00, pkg thin 124.50; 500-600 lbs 
108.00-112.50, pkg thin 113.00; 600-700 lbs 98.00-111.50.

   Holsteins: Large 3  350-375 lbs 74.00-78.00; 400-500 lbs 65.00-74.00;
500-600 lbs 65.00-72.50; 725-800 lbs 67.00-73.50; pkg 1022 lbs 52.50.

   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1 pkg 344 lbs 107.00; 500-600 lbs
98.00-102.50; 600-675 lbs 103.00-107.50, pkg 678 lbs calves 90.00; 700-
750 lbs few 96.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  250-300 lbs 107.00-110.50; pkg
