Aug. 29, 2008              USDA Market News Broiler/Fryer:  Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance     Majority prices were down one cent in the Midwest, but unchanged elsewhere when compared to early week. Trade sentiment was steady to about steady, but instances weak in the Midwest. Demand covered the full range with some areas reporting lighter than expected interest, but moderate to fairly good for fast food and where holiday needs increased. Supplies were usually more than sufficient to satisfy trade needs. Floor stocks were adequate to long. Processing schedules were mixed with some plants down Monday for Labor Day. Plants along the Gulf Coast were in a wait and see mode due to predictions of possible hurricanes over the weekend. In the parts structure, trading was light and selective. Breast items were fully adequate to available, and wings were mixed but easy to obtain. Dark meat cuts were mostly adequate to well cleared . In productions areas, live supplies were moderate.  Weights varied, but were mostly desirable.
