USDA BUYS FROZEN LAMB:

	The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) of the U.S. 
Department of Agriculture today purchased 36,000 pounds of lamb 
leg roasts (Type 1) at a cost of approximately $97,000.  Offers 
received for lamb roasts (Type 3) were rejected due to price 
considerations.  The offer prices for lamb roasts (Type 3) 
ranged from $3.54 to $3.62 per pound.  The roasts will be 
distributed in Federal food and nutrition programs.  Details of 
today's purchase follow:
