O'Connor, Chief, Standardization Branch, Livestock and Seed Program, AMS, USDA, Room 2607-S, 1400 Independence Avenue, Washington, DC 20250-0254. Dear Mr. O'Connor: I support the USDA's proposal that an animal's diet must be 99% grass or forage based in order to be marketed as grass-fed. Please clarify the rule to state that the animal's nutrition will come from live, green pasture. Also prohibit the use of antibiotics and hormones. I make these requests because they are important for human health. We need a strong grass-fed label that we can respect. Then our family will stop boycotting beef. Sincerely, Marjorie T. Duck
