The AMS Outreach Team’s mission is to be proactive in helping to ensure that delivery of all programs and services are known, understood, and accessible to all customers and potential customers, including the underserved.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist AMS staff in reviewing and developing their policies, programs and services to ensure consideration is given to the full range of customers;
- Develop and expand networks and partnerships to assist AMS staff in educating and delivering programs and services to all customers with emphasis on those traditionally underserved;
- Identify outreach opportunities for AMS to enhance exposure to underserved populations;
- Report customer concerns regarding current and potential barriers to AMS programs and services;
- Coordinate outreach activities on behalf of the Agency;
- Serve as a resource for development of outreach plans by individual Branches and Programs;
- Ensure procedures are developed to measure the effectiveness of outreach to all customers including underserved;
- Develop outreach media to increase knowledge of and participation in programs and services by underserved communities; and
- Partner with AMS Programs, other federal and state entities and educational institution(s) to conduct outreach activities focused directly on agricultural marketing.
