Mycotoxin Satellite Laboratories  
Mycotoxin Satellite Laboratories provide aflatoxin, ochratoxin, and vomitoxin chemical testing. The Blakely laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for aflatoxin analysis on nuts and nut products, and was the first USDA food laboratory to become ISO accredited.

 
The laboratories also perform the following analyses:

 
Ground meat – Fat, moisture, protein
Bakery products – Moisture, pH, water activity, oxygen content, fat
Cheese – Fat, moisture, pH, salt
Oilseeds – Oil, moisture, free fatty acid, ammonia (protein, nitrogen), foreign material, peroxide value, fiber, salt, ash
Dried fruit – added oil, water activity
Salsa – Scoville Units

 
The Mycotoxin Satellite Laboratories participate in aflatoxin proficiency check sample programs for pistachios, peanuts, and peanut butter; participate in oilseed proficiency check sample program (international); serve as referee laboratories for oilseeds; and provide USDA approval and review of commercial, state, and private laboratories.
