The Specialty Crops Inspection (SCI) Division is responsible for the grading, inspection, and certification of both fresh and processed fruits and vegetables as well as other related products. The Division also develops and maintains U.S. grade standards, grading manuals, inspection aids, and color guides for these products; and commercial item descriptions for all commodities. Additionally the Division provides audit based services to verify good agricultural and manufacturing practices, HACCP, traceability, and food defense.
