Peanut Standards Board  
The 2002 Farm Bill requires that all peanuts marketed in the United States be inspected and graded by federal inspectors or federally licensed state inspectors. The Farm Bill initiated USDA to appoint a new Peanut Standards Board of industry members. USDA consults with the Board on quality and handling standards for domestically produced and imported peanuts. [2002 Farm Bill provisions]

  • May 28, 2014 The Secretary of Agriculture is requesting nominations to serve on the Peanut Standards Board. Selected Nominees would replace three producers and three industry representatives who currently serve on the Board and who have term of office ending June 30, 2014. [Notice PDF] [Press Release]


  • December 6, 2013 The Secretary of Agriculture appointed seven peanut producers and industry representatives to serve on the Peanut Standards Board for terms of office ending 2015 and 2016. [Press Release]
