Field Laboratory Services (FLS) consists of the National Science Laboratory and two Science Specialty Laboratories.

Services and Scope
These facilities perform chemical, proximate, microbiological and bio-molecular testing of agricultural products for the agricultural community. Their services include pesticide residue analysis in a variety of matrices, pathogen testing, testing for adulteration in domestic and imported citrus products, aflatoxin testing in peanut products and other tree nuts and bio-molecular testing.

FLS laboratories provide quality assured testing for the National School Lunch Program, the procurement of US Military Ready to Eat Meals and other Federal programs. These laboratory programs are non-regulatory and analyses and testing services are performed on a fee-for-service basis.
Fee rates can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations(7CFR91.37). Updated schedules of the laboratory testing fees are available from the FLS laboratory managers. Requests for laboratory services and inquiries are welcome.
